The Bailey Company Solves Cash Counting Challenges With Brink's CompuSafe Service

(Irving, Texas, September 13, 2002) - The Bailey Company of Denver, Colorado, recently announced an agreement with Brink's CompuSafe® Service, an electronic cash handling service created to provide greater convenience and security for cash-intensive retail operations. Under this agreement, Brink's is providing CompuSafe Service to The Bailey Company's 38 Arby's locations in Denver.

"Brink's CompuSafe Service has helped us eliminate counting errors and lost deposits," said Dave Moore, Operations Auditor at The Bailey Company. ?We already had armored car service, but that didn't address our cash management issues. Counting discrepancies and missing envelopes were causing finger pointing among our managers. With CompuSafe Service, all the finger pointing is gone. Now the money goes into the CompuSafe unit and Brink's handles it from there.?

Brink's CompuSafe Service provides improved accuracy for cash transactions from the time a customer pays to the time the money is deposited in the bank and completely eliminates the manual counting and re-counting of cash on site at restaurants.

When restaurant employees insert currency into the CompuSafe unit, it reads and validates the bills, placing them in secure cassettes. Brink's collects the sealed containers and transports them to a Brink's currency room where trained tellers verify the deposits and combine deposits from all The Bailey Company's participating locations. Brink then makes a single, combined deposit into The Bailey Company's bank and provides deposit total and restaurant detail to The Bailey Company's corporate headquarters.

"Because Brink's controls the entire process, we guarantee the client that the amount of cash reported in the cassettes at pick up will be deposited to their bank account," said Glenn Mason, vice president of Brink's CompuSafe Service. "And, Brink's control of the entire process minimizes the potential of theft and discrepancies."

Brink's CompuSafe Service is a solution that offers Brink's quality service every step of the way, from the safes and armored transportation to the on-site maintenance and nationwide electronic reporting. It was designed specifically for cash-intensive retail operations such as restaurants, convenience stores, and gasoline marketers.

"Having Brink's CompuSafe Service has reduced our cash shortages as well as our bank charges," said Moore. "It also saves time since our managers no longer have to count cash, and reconciliation is simpler, too."

The Bailey Company operates 65 Arby's® in Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming and Florida. Arby's Restaurants offer freshly cooked, sliced, hot, tender roast beef sandwiches, a variety of chicken sandwiches and signature menu items like Potato Cakes, Curly Fries and Jamocha shakes. Arby's has added a new line of sandwiches to their menu called Market Fresh, deli-style sandwiches served with fresh toppings, unique sauces and roasted meats all on thick-cut, honey wheat bread.
