Kahunaville Implements Brink's CompuSafe Service To Save Time and Reduce Cash Handling Errors

(Irving, Texas, February 18, 2002) - Kahunaville of Tampa, Florida, recently announced an agreement with Brink's, Incorporated for CompuSafeŽ Service, an electronic cash handling service created to provide greater convenience and security for cash-intensive retail operations. Kahunaville is an award winning "island oasis" casual-dining concept from Adventure Dining (Wilmington, Delaware) with an approximate footprint of 20,000 square feet and over 200 cast members.

Brink's CompuSafe Service provides improved security and accuracy for cash transactions from the time a customer pays to the time the money is deposited in the bank and completely eliminates the manual counting and re-counting of cash on site at restaurants.

"CompuSafe Service reduces the cash handling time, cost and errors," said Ed O'Grady, manager of Kahunaville of Tampa. "Now our managers can spend more time serving guests and less time with administrative duties."

"What's more, having the CompuSafe encourages our cast members to make drops more frequently," said O'Grady. "This helps minimize the cash they carry around throughout the night."

When Kahunaville cast members insert currency into the CompuSafe unit, it reads and validates the bills, placing them in secure cassettes. Brink's collects the sealed containers and transports them to a Brink's currency room where trained tellers verify the deposits. Brink's then makes the deposit into Kahunaville's bank and provides deposit detail to its office.

"Kahunaville has been particularly pleased with the additional deposit detail for its cashiers," said Glenn Mason, vice president of Brink's CompuSafe Service. ?CompuSafe Service offers many time-saving features for managers of cash-intensive operations such as Kahunaville."

Brink's CompuSafe Service is a solution that offers Brink's quality service every step of the way, from the safes and armored transportation to the on-site maintenance and nationwide electronic reporting. Perhaps most important, because Brink's controls the entire process, the potential for theft and discrepancies is minimized and Brink's can guarantee its clients that the amount of cash reported in the cassettes when picked up will be deposited to their bank account.

Brink's, Incorporated, founded in 1859, is the largest provider of armored services in the world with over 150 facilities in the United States and a global network that spans over 50 countries.
