Sam Seltzer's Saves Time and Prevents Losses With Brink's CompuSafe Service

(Irving, Texas April 1, 2002) - Sam Seltzer's, a rapidly expanding independent restaurant operating in Orlando recently announced an agreement with Brink's, Incorporated for CompuSafeŽ Service, an electronic cash handling service created to provide greater convenience and security for cash-intensive retail operations. Brink's CompuSafe Service provides improved security and accuracy for cash transactions from the time a customer pays to the time the money is deposited in the bank and completely eliminates the manual counting and re-counting of cash on site at restaurants.

"We initiated Brink's CompuSafe Service to simplify our cash handling, to eliminate the counting and recounting of cash and cash envelopes, and to take the pressure of cash handling off the managers," said Michael Seltzer, Chairman of Sam Seltzer's. "We have accomplished this and more."

"We also have experienced a ripple effect of time savings and convenience," said Seltzer. "The bookkeeper no longer has to recount cash in the morning and no one has to recount cash envelopes."

When restaurant employees insert currency into the CompuSafe unit, it reads and validates the bills, placing them in secure cassettes. Brink's collects the sealed containers and transports them to a Brink's currency room where trained tellers verify the deposits. Brink's then makes the deposit into Sam Seltzer's bank and provides deposit detail to its headquarters office.

"Because Brink's controls the entire process, we guarantee the client that the amount of cash reported in the cassettes at pick up will be deposited to their bank account," said Glenn Mason, Vice President of Brink's CompuSafe Service. "And, Brink's control of the entire process minimizes the potential of theft and discrepancies."

Brink's CompuSafe Service is a solution that offers Brink's quality service every step of the way, from the safes and armored transportation to the on-site maintenance and nationwide electronic reporting. Perhaps most important, because Brink's controls the entire process, the potential of theft or discrepancies is minimized and Brink's can guarantee its clients that the amount of cash reported in the cassettes when picked up will be deposited to their bank account.

Sam Seltzer's opened its first restaurant in Tampa in 1995. It has since opened locations in Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, Altamonte Springs and Port Richey, Florida.

Brink's, Incorporated, founded in 1859, is the largest provider of armored services in the world with over 150 facilities in the United States and a global network that spans over 50 countries.
